Make A Difference Entertainment (MADE) is registered charitable incorporated organisation with an overall vision to contribute to reducing discrimination against BAME & LGBTQ+ Londoners. Our first specific aim is to reduce prejudices about those communities and the second is to increase career readiness for talent from those communities entering into the creative industries.
In the last 4 years, MADE has run over 500 filmmaking workshops, 4 screening events with over 150 attendees, held an exhibition at BFI Southbank attracting over 1500 people, delivered 10 projects with proven employability and community cohesion outcomes and produced over 30 short films with 100,000+ online views.
We are seeking to appoint a new Trustee with the relevant skills and experience to take over our current chair after they their appointment ends in Autumn.
This is a great opportunity to support the charity and its service users as we aim to expand our services and scale up with sustainable trading income.
We are looking for someone with a track record of leading either corporate or non-profit organisations with the ability to design and deliver strategies.
This role will require working around 8 hours a month either from our office or representing at events. Our quarterly board meetings take place in Hayes, West London.
Strong leadership skills
Interest in equality and diversity issues
Good public speaking skills and comfortable with representing the organisation at events
Experience or networks within the film & TV sector (ideal but not essential)
